Aberdeen Carpetright shops to shut for good after firm collapses

Carpetright has shut all its shops in Aberdeen after the retailer entered insolvency.

Stores in Kittybrewster Retail Park, on Bedford Road, and the store in Bridge of Don Retail Park are now closed.

It leaves the retailer with only four stores in Scotland, Bishopbriggs, Dumbarton, Dumfries and Edinburgh.

Affected customers, who have outstanding orders, should seek refunds through their card providers.

More than 1,500 staff have lost their jobs while 308 are being retained.

An administration deal's been reached with rival firm Tapi to buy 54 stores across the rest of the UK.

Tapi has a store in Kittybrewster Retail Park.
